FRA Wildcats Still Undefeated in District Play
The Flint River Academy (FRA) Wildcat baseball team is boasting a 10-2 overall record and a 2-0 District 1 record after defeating Holy Spirit Prep and Lafayette Christian last week.

The Flint River Academy (FRA) Wildcat baseball team is boasting a 10-2 overall record and a 2-0 District 1 record after defeating Holy Spirit Prep and Lafayette Christian last week.
FRA 22 – Holy Spirit Prep 7
The Wildcats banged out 19 hits and pushed 22 runners across the plate to crush the Holy Spirit Prep Cougars by a score of 22-7 on Tuesday, Apr. 8 in Woodbury.
The Cougars took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning but the Wildcats battled back in the bottom of the inning to take the lead by a score of 4-3.
The Cougars pushed two runners across the plate in the top of the second to take a 5-3 lead but the Wildcats battled back in the bottom of the inning to scored eight runs and regain the lead by a score of 11-5.
The Cougars cut the lead to 11-6 in the top of the third and, once again, the Wildcats battled back to score five runs and take a 16-6 lead.
The Cougars answered again in the top of the fourth inning and scored a run to cut the Wildcat lead to 16-7 but the Wildcats pushed five runs across the plate in the bottom of the inning to end the game on the Mercy Rule by a score of 22-7.
Senior Brack Spangler was 2 for 4 at the plate with a double, scored three runs, had two RBIs and had two stolen bases.
Senior Sullivan “Sully” Jones went 2 for 2, scored three runs and had two stolen bases; senior Conner Amerson was 1 for 2 with a run scored and a stolen base; senior J. Stanton Pritchard scored two runs and had two stolen bases; junior Reese Johnson was 1 for 2 with a runs scored and a stolen base; junior Mason Jones ws 2 for 4 with a double, scored three runs and had a RBI; sophomore Jack Ballard was 3 for 4 with a double, scored two runs, had four RBIs and a stolen base; senior Hunter Pike was 2 for 2 with a home run, scored two runs, has two RBIs and a stolen base; sophomore Thomas Knight was 2 for 2 with two RBIs; sophomore Cale Darsey was 1 for 1 with two runs scored, a RBI and a stolen base and junior Ethan Newman was 3 for 3 with three runs scored and two stolen bases.
Ballard, Knight and Newman all pitched for the Wildcats in the game. Ballard pitched one inning and allowed three runs off one hit, issued three walks, recorded two strikeouts and faced seven batters; Knight pitched one and a third innings and allowed three runs off one hit, issued three walks, recorded two strikeouts and faced 10 batters and Newman pitched one and two thirds innings and allowed one run (no earned runs) off one hit, issued two walks, recorded three strikeouts and faced eight batters.

FRA 12 – Lafayette Chr. 0
The Wildcats increased the team’s win streak to four with a 12-0 victory over the Lafayette Christian Cougars in Woodbury on Thursday, Apr. 10.
The Wildcats took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back. FRA added three runs in the second, six in the third and two in the fourth to take the 12-0 victory.
Spangler faced 17 batters on the mound for FRA tossing five innings, only allowing two hits and recording 10 strikeouts. He was also 1 for 3 at the plate and picked up three RBIs.
Sully Jones was 2 for 4 on the day with two runs scored and three RBIs; senior Conner Amerson was 1 for 2 with a double, a runs scored and a RBI; Pritchard was 1 for 3 with a run scored, a RBI and a stolen base; Mason Jones was 2 for 3 with a RBI; Ballard was 1 for 3; senior Eli Phillips was 3 for 3 with two runs scored and a RBI; New scored three runs and had a RBI; senior Hunter Pike was 1 for 3 with a double, two runs scored and a RBI and Darsey scored a run.

Central GA Arts 2 – FRA 0
The Wildcats lost a heartbreaker in a pitching duel on Saturday, Apr. 12 in Woodbury to the Central GA Arts Mustangs by a score of 2-0.
The Mustangs scored the only runs in the game in the top of the first inning.
Sully Jones looked brilliant on the mound tossing seven innings allowed two runs (no earned runs) off five hits, issued three walks, recorded five strikeouts and faced 29 batters. He was also 1 for 2 at the plate and Spangler was 1 for 3.

Upcoming Games
The Wildcats will host the Skipstone Academy Warriors on Monday, Apr. 21 at 6 p.m.
The team will travel to Atlanta on Thursday, Apr. 24 to play the Heritage Preparatory Rams at 5 p.m.
