The Manchester High Blue Devil basketball team is boasting a perfect 3-0 record and the Lady Angels are 1-1 on the season after last week’s action.
LADY ANGELS
Greenville 41 – MHS 33
The Lady Angels traveled to Greenville to play the Lady Patriots on .Saturday, Dec. 13 and were defeated by a score of 41-33.

BLUE DEVILS
Blue Devils 79 – NCA 13
On Tuesday, Dec. 9 the Northwest Classical Academy Spartans visited the Blue Devils and were defeated by a score of 79-13/
The Blue Devils led by a score of 21-3 at the end of the first quarter and increased the lead to 49-5 by the end of the first half.
The Blue Devils led by the score of 63-8 at the end of the third quarter and went on to win by the score of 79-13.
Freshman Cornelius Ford led the Blue Devils in scoring with 22 points, had seven reb ounds and seven steals. Senior Dre McGhee was the only other Blue Devil to score in double digits with 16 points and eight rebounds.
Other players adding to the offense charge included: senior Brontae Jones with nine points, seven rebounds and three steals; sophomore Javorris Ledbetter with eight points and eight rebounds; sophomore Justus Kempson scored four points, had six rebounds and a steal; sophomore Jamire Hartage scored four points, had five rebounds and two steals; sophomore Maliki Horton added four points and had two rebounds; senior Devouris Favors scored two points, had six rebounds and three steals; junior Tommy Bowles scored two points, had six rebounds and two steals; junior Jahmari Carter scored two points, had four rebounds and two steals; sophomore Jaleel McMillan scored two points and had two rebounds.

Blue Devils 76 – Greenville 72
On Saturday, Dec. 13, the Blue Devils traveled to Greenville and narrowly defeated the Patriots by a score of 76-72.
Jones led Manchester in scoring with 25 points, had 12 rebounds and three steals; McGhee scored nine points, had seven rebounds and three steals; senior Jazyion Denson scored eight points, had eight rebound and a steal; Ledbetter added six points, had five rebounds and a steal; Bowles scored six points and had five rebounds; Ford scored two points, had three rebounds and steal.

The Lady Angels will host Mitchel County on Friday, Dec. 19 at 3 p.m.
The Lady Angels will travel to Calhoun County on Saturday, Dec. 20 and play at 5 p.m.
The Blue Devils will travel to Greene County to play on Friday, Dec. 19 and play at 1:30 p.m.
On Saturday, Dec. 20 the team will travel to Calhoun County and play at 6:30 p.m.

GHS Netters Have Busy Week
The Greenville High Lady Patriots and Patriots increased their playing load this past week as they hosted games against local and region rivals and had a road game against a region foe.
The Lady Patriots ended their week this past Saturday (December 13) with a victory over their county and region rival Manchester Lady Angels. The game started slow for the Lady Patriots as they were coming off a game the night before. Both teams battled evenly and neither team could muster a big lead. Finally, in the last quarter, the Lady Patriots took control of the game and came away with a 41-33 victory, their closest margin of victory all season.
CHS Cavaliers End Season at Thompson
Turnovers and mishaps helped bring the Callaway Cavalier football season to and end in the second round of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Class AA state playoffs in Thompson on Friday, Nov. 21 by a score of 28-19.
The Cavaliers had three fumbles, an interception and three bad snaps and all of those ended potential scoring drives. It was that kind of night for the Cavaliers as the team drew first blood but couldn’t hold onto the lead.
Lady Luck frowned on Callaway on the team’s opening drive. Senior Jeremiah Dunn took the opening kickoff at the Callaway 15-yard line and returned it to the 36-yard line to start the game.
CHS Cavaliers Advance in State Playoffs
The Callaway High Cavalier football team kept its hopes for a state championship run alive last Friday night by defeating the Franklin County High Lions by a score of 25-15 in the first round of the Georgia High School Association Class AA state tournament.
The team will travel to Thomson this Friday night to play the Bulldogs at 7 p.m. The Bulldogs defeated the Jackson Red Devils by a score of 14-7 to advance. Read the preview for the game.
