The Meriwether County School System will hold a “Pre-K and Kindergarten Roundup” with registration and and open house on Saturday, March 22, from 9 a.m. to noon.
The event will be held at both Unity Elementary School in Luthersville and Mountain View Elementary School in Manchester.
In Georgia, Pre-Kindergarten is funded by the state lottery. The program is open to children who are four years old on or before September 1, 2025. Children who are five years old on or before September 1, 2025, and who did not attend a lottery-funded Pre-K as a four year old, may also be eligible. Pre-K registration has these documents, which are required:
• Certified birth certificate
• Social Security Card
• Proof of Residence (permanent address)
• Certificate of Immunization (Form 3231)
• Certificate of Eye, Ear and Dental Examination (Form 3300)
Both the Immunization and Health Examinations should be completed when the child is 4 years old. If your child receives any of the following services, please provide a copy of the card:
• Medicaid
• Peach Care for Kids
• Food Stamps (EBT)
• Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF)
• Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
• Child and Parent Services (CAPS)
For Kindergarten, parents can complete a registration packet on March 22. All parents or guardians must attend and bring two of the following:
• W-2 or W-4 form
• Meriwether County Property Tax Assessment Form
• Lease or Mortgage Document
• Driver’s License (with physical address)
• Voter Registration Card (with physical address)
First-time Kindergarten students will also need:
• Birth Certificate
• Social Security Card
• Certificate of Immunization (Form 3231)
• Certificate of Eye, Ear and Dental Examination (Form 3300)
