The Warm Springs City Council approved the city’s fiscal year 2026 budget at their meeting Monday, March 9.
The $718,005 spending plan calls for income from taxes, permits and licenses, charges for services, fines and forfeitures, and miscellaneous sources. Expenses for the city are expected to fall into the categories of general government, judicial services, public safety, streets, and tourism. The Council held a public hearing prior to the meeting for comment on the budget but no one appeared to speak for or against the budget.
The Council voted to approve an expenditure of $10,000 for a 2015 Ford F-350 XL for the Public Works Maintenance Department.
A request from the Warm Springs Merchants Association for $3,600 for funding expenses was discussed, but the Council voted to keep the appropriation at the previous year’s $2,400, with the possibility of budget amendments that would allow more money to go to the association later.
In other business, the Warm Springs City Council:
• Approved the appointment of Scott Mayfield as City Attorney;
• Approved a quote from PRS Solutions for $3,800 for pothole repair and broken asphalt in two spots on Leverett Street and near the fire station;

• Approved a business license for the Rocking Horse Emporium.
